I have now arrived in the ancient city of Rome! I wanted to create a website that you, my friends and family, could check to be updated on my life over the next year…perhaps longer! I will be updating this on occasion, in addition to my newsletters and emails, to inform and entertain you!

So far…this has been my life! The first week or two will be taking care of household things and settling in. Getting used to a new culture, language, and way of life has been a lot harder for me than I thought! I mean…everything is different than what I am used to! I am excited to start language school where I will hopefully be able to understand more of what people are saying to me. I have met two of the Italian students that go to the university, La Sapienza. They are both named Fredrika…it must be a popular name here! They are so sweet and I immediately fell in love with them. You should have seen the look on their faces when I gave them some of my Mike-n-Ike’s and they were able to try them for the first time. Apparently they LOVE American candy! I helped one of them with their homework…she is a language major and had to translate an article from the Economist from English into Italian! I even struggled with trying to define some of the words for her!

The apartment that we now live in is temporary…we will be moving at the end of the month! I will give you my new address as soon as I know!

We also had the opportunity to take a quick tour of the city to help get more accustomed to our new home! Here is what I saw!
